Copyright 2006 - Guru3D.comAnother ATI review today folks, this time from that mammoth manufacturer in the hardware industry, ASUS. As you know Asus is one of the leading players in the hardware market and they offer a wide range of products. Mainboards, barebone systems, monitors, servers, PDA's and so much more. Among that huge product line they also offer some pretty sweet videocards from both NVIDIA and ATI. YEs .. an $11-Billion dollar company that's still  growing every year and yet consistently has the expertise to produce far above-average products to retail that are priced very competitive.

Today we'll take a peek at the ASUS EAX1900 Crossfire edition mastercard. In this first article we'll look at the product itself as a single card as this in fact is a EAX1900 XT. Perhaps next week we'll launch a Crossfire edition article and pair this little beast up with another X1900 XT to see what Crossfire has to offer us when we plant is onto a A8R32-MVP DeLUXE mainboard based on that new and awesome RD580 Chipset from ATI.

Again, today we'll test this X1900 XT as standalone card.

Right then, there are three members in the ASUS series Radeon X1900 cards, the EAX1900XTX and the EAX1900XT, adopted ATI's flagship Radeon X1900XTX and Radeon X1900XT VPUs, respectively.
Both these cards deliver one of the most advanced visual technology standards, including Shader Model 3.0, High Dynamic Rendering (HDR) and support for LCD screens with a resolution up-to 2560 x 1600 for some pretty sweet XHD gaming. The third model is of course the EAX 1900 Crossfire edition which we planted into our system today. This graphics card is 100% similar to the EAX1900 XT yet has a compositing engine to be able to manage Crossfire mode.

Right let's get this review started. On the next few pages we'll talk quickly about the new X1900 products, do a recap on the memory controller, talk features and specifications but most of all have a look at performance. You are visiting Guru3D.com so we have plenty of benchmarks and yes we'll compare this product to GeForce hottest, the 7900 GT(X). Of course we recently introduced HD gaming resolutions at 19x12 so you'll notice some performance testing at such a level also.

New in our benchmark test suite will be Call of Duty 2, X3: Reunion, F.e.a.r. and HL2: Lost Coast all tested up-to high-definition 1920x1200 resolutions.
