ASUS CineVibe Rumble Feedback USB Gaming Headset review

By: Brann Mitchell Edited by Hilbert Hagedoorn | Published: September 30, 2010

Introduction

ASUS CineVibe HeadsetWelcome back to another edition of our headset reviews, the last of which we cannot quite remember, but we do remember that we do love our headphones.  While you may think ASUS only does high-revving motherboards and high-end audio cards, they also make headphones.

This is something that this reviewer was not particularly aware of.  Anyway, please welcome to the Guru3d Labs the ASUS CineVibe Rumble Feedback USB Gaming Headset.  Unfortunately for it we collected a number of headphones and headsets to compare it too, including a $350 pair of AKG 701’s.

At first glance you might think that comparing the CineVibe to audiophile quality headphones may not be in the best of taste, however, we find that the CineVibe are actually pretty good.  The shock! The horror!  The screeching violins!  Oh, we’ll find out how well the CineVibe handles violins in due time, but its main function are a gaming headset with rumble feedback.

Incidentally, if it rumbles in your hands it’s called a Force Feedback controller.  If it’s on your head, it’s called Rumble Feedback.  I’m not quite sure who came up with the terminology, but it’s a mystery nonetheless.  Let's get ready to rumble.
