Hey Guru's .. An aspiring review today. I think it was the year 2004 when we reviewed the X-Dreamer series casing from Aspire. Yes, a long time ago. None the less .. Aspire has most certainly established themselves in the hardware industry and throughout the years they have been working on some very nice products.

The company Aspire was established in March 1999.

With the strategy of standing behind our customers to ensure their total satisfaction. Based on this principle, Aspire has been working closely with its customers and focusing on providing innovative quality PC products and services to meet market needs.

Aspire designs, imports, markets and services PC parts including computer cases, accessories and peripherals such as case fans, power supplies and matching color keyboard/mouse/speaker kits. Today's product is one that is slowly getting more popular. I was a little surprised when Aspire asked us to review this product as it has been on the market for many months now. A Micro ATX based case. What is Micro ATX ? It simply is a SFF (small form factor) PC. But since that's a little too "small" of an explanation .. here we go allow me to elaborate a little.

MicroATX (also known as mATX) form factor is a small motherboard size of 9.6" x 9.6" (244 mm x 244 mm). Compared to full ATX, microATX has reduced the amount of I/O slots but a smaller power supply can be used. MicroATX PCs can hold the same hardware as ATX cases. It's just as fast as your standard PC and can for example include more than a gigabyte of RAM; a serial or parallel ATA hard drive; a dual-layer DVD burner; PCI, AGP, and PCI Express cards; floppy drives; and media readers. Power supplies typically range smaller than a mid-tower; however, 450W power supply units do exist. Today's casing for example includes a 420 Watts PSU. What's the benefit ? MicroATX towers are a lot smaller than typical ATX towers. This means that although the same standard hardware is supported, it is supported in lower quantities. For example, an ATX motherboard may support 8 USB ports, while a microATX may support only 4. In addition, usually the case may only hold one or two 3.5" hard drives and one or two 5.25" optical drive.

So pretty much the Micro ATX standard is a miniature system that you can place on your desktop. They typically allow for one AGP/PCIx and two PCI expansion slots. By inserting the right components you can have a very sweet little gaming rig on your desktop, with good esthetics, and of course these are also great for LAN parties as they are easy to carry around.

Today we'll take a look at the X-QPack from Aspire. A Micro-ATX PC casing with included 420 Watts PSU. It's designed for the gamer, has great looks and comes in several colors: red, yellow, green, blue, black and silver as the model we received for this review was.
