Amilo SA3650 with Graphics Booster review

FSC Amilo SA 3650 with Graphics Booster So then, A compact 13.3 inch notebook, combined with a higher performance graphic card, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870. With the Graphic Booster, FSC launches as one of the first manufacturers of an external graphic card for notebooks, which can fire up an external screen when necessary, transforming your mobile office to a gaming device or home theater.

For your information, currently, the Amilo Sa 3650 is the only notebook with XGP port for this AMD external graphics device. With the Amilo Graphics Booster that is enough for some casual gaming, don't expect to run Crysis with it (though we will try it out later on), as you know, that's even a hard thing to achieve on some high-end desktop systems.

Now, the laptop used obviously needs to have the XGP port, and the only one from FSC (Fujitsu Siemens Computers) is the Amilo SA3650 notebook. the notebook is a story all by itself, design and specifications wise. In short, the series comes in several flavors, the available options here are AMD X2 processors ranging up to the Turion X2 Ultra CPU with 2.4 GHz and 2 MB L2 cache.

Our test sample came with 2.4GHz Turion X2 Ultra ZM-84 CPU, 4GB of memory, 13.3-inch 1280x800 display and integrated Radeon HD 3200 graphics.  Just a normal laptop, but when you plug in the Graphics booster cable and power thingss up .. this happens ..

Have a look at the photo below, the Amilo Graphics Booster to the left, based on the Radeon HD 3870 card connects to the notebook via PCI-Express 2.0 x8 XGP port, by cable ...Once connected ... we are good to go.

But let's head into a photo shoot where I can get you more acquainted with the product.
