Photos - AMD Phenom II X4 940

On the next few pages we'll show you some photos. The images were taken at 4272 x 2848 pixels and then scaled down. The camera used was a Canon 450D - 12 MegaPixel.

Okay, granted... there is not much you can caption during a photo shoot of a processor. I'll try none the less, as I always say, you need to understand what you are reading about and therefore we always show you photos. Even if these processors all look the same.

Anyway, meet the all new AMD Phenom II X4 940 processor, Socket AM2+

Though this is a Black Edition version, you do not need to purchase the BE version. The regular Phenom II X4 940 is 100% the same performance wise, yet has its multiplier locked, which makes overclocking a bit more difficult. The regular Phenom II X4 940 is also clocked at 3.0 GHz, with the same cache sizes and the same 125 watt TDP (peak processor wattage). So remember, the only difference is the unlocked multiplier.

Here's our test platform, the Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H motherboard. It's obviously AMD 790 GX chipset based and has a plethora of features and connectivity. Definitely a motherboard you should opt for, I enjoyed using it very much. And as we'll show, our overclocking results weren't half bad either, no Sir.
