Transcoding is a very popular thing to do on PCs. You take a movie and transcode it from one format to another. In this test we transcode a high-definition VC1 movie to a WMV9 format. Overall we again see very similar performance between the two dual-core processors.

CPU data encryption

For this test we encrypt some precious data with the help of the CPU. We use a combo of encryption algorithms yet, AES dominates here. Here's a test where Intel dominated the Athlon X2 processor, very likely due to the Wolfdale's larger L2 cache.
