Photos setup & installation - Alphacool NexXxoS XP

On the next few pages we'll show you some photos. The images were taken at high-resolution and then cropped and scaled down. The camera used was a Canon 450D 12 MegaPixel.

So for 45 EUR you'll receive the water-block and mounting system, for Socket LGA 1366. Mind you, you'll still need to order two fittings (barbs) each for 3/8" or 1/2" inner diameter tubing, for you to be able to mount tubing at all. That and two clamps.

The package includes the water-block, screws, studs, springs and a little thermal paste. The spring mounting system will require you to remove your motherboard, as the screws need to be inserted at the back of the mainboard for optimal mounting. But heck, this is water-cooling, you already knew that right? First glimpse of the water-block ... that's looking mighty fine in my eyes. Let's see if it has a flat copper bottom finish.

Oh yeah, that's just perfect really. 100% flat that is just an remarkable flat finish right there.

Mounting the screws aka retention system. You simply push the four screws each with a washer into / through the backside of the mounting holes. You secure it with a rubber washer, and then apply a nut to secure it completely. It's now a question of  inserting the CPU, guide the screws through the CPU block. BTW before doing so, apply a little thermal paste (smeared out evenly).

And here we can see the final results. We have now mounted the CPU block on top of the processor. Inserted the springs and with a nut secured them. A pretty spectacular sight really. Let's have a look at a couple of photo's.
