Conclusion
Okay so it's like this, it doesn't take a rocket-scientist to figure out that Albatron's GiGi GeForce FX 5950 UV is one tasty piece of hardware. It's just lovely to look at and will fit the hardcore gamers needs quite well. Any current game to date and likely most future games will play fantastic on a modern machine equipped with this graphics card. In all honesty, the Achilles heel of the GeForce FX series however remains DirectX 9 Shader 2.0 performance where in several cases even a mid-range ATI Radeon product can outclass a GeForce FX 5950 Ultra in that aspect. Luckily it's not 'all' about DX9 Shader performance for NVIDIA. It's a piece of the huge pie.
Secondly you need to consider the price, it's quite steep at roughly 420 USD but hey .. you are the hardcore gamer, the enthusiast. If you buy this product you'll pay for that high-end gear. If you can't afford it, may I seriously hint you towards a 5900 XT product ?
Overall I must say that I enjoyed testing this product. A very nice performing piece of good looking hardware is what it is, the Wise Fan technology hits a soft-spot for me and hey ... a bundle that is good enough to get you started, the gamebundle needs updating though. Furthermore excellent gaming performance, dual monitor candy, great movie/media playback and crystal clear 2D and 3D image display. In it's default state the card is performing 100% the same as the NVIDIA reference model, it did not divert even one single frame per second from that reference model. When it comes to gaming you can bet your hiny that NVIDIA delivers the good
s. Stability and performance of this product is really good and hey, the 5950 UV even overclocks really nice. Two thumbs up and if you are willing to spend a lot of money on your graphics card all I can say is this -> highly recommended.
