Then on the backside we need to line up the cooler drill holes with the X shaped GPU mounting bracket. And this process is horror. It feels like there is just too much clearance in-between the cooler's mounting holes and the screws. Screwing these secure is a hard task as you need to apply a horrible lot of pressure on the retention bracket in order to screw it secure. And heck, you need to do two.

So once everything is mounted this is the end result. Sure that looks great doesn't it ? And yeah .. you'll need three PCI slots bro, that thing is as thick as Moby dick.

Here we mount the card into the test system. And this is where disaster truck us. The card you are looking at died during installation process. I kid you not, this 400 EUR X2 is a complete write-off as we do no longer get any signal on our monitor.

We just told you that the X shaped mounts required a LOT of pressure in order to be mounted properly. We expect that's where something went wrong. But it's a guess really.

Though as ridiculous as it may sound, we never give up. So we took another X2 and applied the entire installation processes once more. Luckily for us, that card did survive the installation but again we had issues mounting the X shaped GPU retention clips/brackets.. Let's have a look at the temperatures.
